Media images

Advertising emphasises the importance of physical attractiveness and this places pressure on women to focus on their appearance. In recent survey 27% of girls felt that the media pressures them to have a perfect body and a 1996 survey found that ads made women fear being unattractive or old. Advertising may adversely impact women's body image, which can lead to unhealthy behaviour as women strive for the ultra-thin body idealised in the media. Advertising images have also been recently accused of setting unrealistic ideals for males too and boys are beginning to compromise their health to try and achieve the well-built media standard.

I call it facial discrimination Victoria, you humans are conditioned with it from birth.
Every woman on the planet, even the supermodels feel there is something about their bodies they would like to improve.
In fact this whole world revolves around appearances, unless one is very spiritual then one sees through it all and laughs. . .. . ( ha ha.)

PS Imagine what it's like to walk around with your whole face covered in fine black hairs. Beklieve me if you can get over that you can get over anything. In fact if I wait long enough it'll probably come into fashion and I'll be an all-the-rage Catwalk model, you never know.

In fact shall we spread the new catchprase around, V? That might be the best we can do to help prevent this media pre-occupation with image.

" FACIAL DISCRIMINATION "

(invented by Cathead)

It might even become part of the English language if enough people hear it and it's the new trendy thing to say; like " Whatever" and " 24/7 "

From little acorns, mighty oaks do grow!
